Here is my rendition of my monster. Not graphically beautiful, but the learning curve on the software was kind of steep! (I posted late as I am at the beach on vacation and I completely lost track of the time.)

Barb's Monster

Barb - Here is what I think your monster looks like. It was a great story. I really liked the ending where it turned out to be his brother! I used colored pencils for this. I thought it would be a good change for me since I do everything in tehnology and never touch a crayon or colored pencil.

Monster Description

Wesley slowly reached for the closet
door. His hand was shaking as he extended his arm to the knob. The
air felt electric with fear. Wes flung open the door and there stood
the monster staring at him. “Hullo, Mr. Monster,” Wesley
said with a lump in his throat. The monster stared
down at him with eyes that glowed
orange. He had two black holes where his nose should
have been
. He swung his HUGE round black
head from side to side as he slowly uncurled himself from the
tiny closet. He reached out with thick black
rectangular arms that were as big around as small
trees.

Wesley's whole body shook, but he
couldn't seem to take his eyes off of the monster with
spaghetti-like, wavy hair. The monster
began to grin with the biggest
yellow mouth that Wes had ever seen! Every one of the
monster's teeth had a different color sparkling
gemstone embedded in it! The glitter was almost blinding. His body
was skinny compared to the huge yellow
grin and the thick arms.

“FOOD,” the monster bellowed.
“Food?,” Wesley whispered. “I
wonder if he means ME?”
“FOOD!,” the monster shouted
again. The louder the monster yelled, the more his black,
rectangular body shook. “FOOD!” “Um, what
do you want to eat, Mr. Monster, sir?,” said Wes in the bravest
voice he could manage. “CHOCOLATE!” “Chocolate?” “Chocolate
for monster,” screamed the monster as he began stomping
his flat, black feet. His brown,
overgrown toenails clicked on the floor as he stomped
up and down.

Wesley stepped back away from the
monster as the temper tantrum grew into a frenzy. “CHOCOLATE, NOW!”
The glistening, grinning, pointy teeth and the
filthy, stomping feet made Wesley begin to laugh. “I'm
sorry, Mr. Monster, but you are acting like a baby!” As soon as he
said it, Wes realized that he might have offended the monster. “So,
let me get you some chocolate in my drawer over there,” as he
pointed to the other side of the room. “NOW, NOW, NOW!!!,” the
monster screamed.

Wesley raced to his drawer and found the chocolate bar that he had saved from his Easter basket. “Here is some chocolate, Mr. Monster. I hope it's enough.” Wes placed the chocolate on the floor in front of the monster. The monster reached
out
with his tree trunk arm and dug
his filthy, long fingernails into the chocolate
and promptly gobbled up the entire thing. And then a strange
thing happened. He began to shrink. His eyes turned green. His black
body began to change.

Right in front of Wesley's eyes, the monster transformed into...

His little brother

(This applies to teachers at the end of a long week, too!)

Final Graduate Class

I am in the second week of my very last graduate course through Lesley University. I have learned so much during my Master's work. My degree, Technology in Education, has taught me to code websites, create valid assessment rubrics, integrate technology into my teaching, repair computers, troubleshoot physical networks and a host of other skills. I look forward to my new venture in a computer consulting business!
